The Yorkshire Dales

Anglers Cottage is located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, making it a fabulous place to explore this National Park’s rich heritage and landscapes of immense beauty. From limestone crags and caves to spectacular waterfalls and meadows, there’s an endless array of things to do, things to see and attractions to visit.

Spectacular Walks

Many walks can be taken directly from the cottage. Grassington, Kettlewell, Arncliffe and Malham are all in easy reach with river walks in Burnsall, Buckden and Hawkswick.

There are also walks in nearby Grass Woods with ancient woodland, hill fort and settlement. Ingleton waterfalls, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Abbey, How Steam Gorge and Brimham Rocks are just a short drive away offering alternative walking experiences.

 

Cycling

Anglers Cottage is directly on the route of the 2014 Tour de France and also the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way. This is a well signposted circular route visiting most of the major dales.

For mountain biking enthusiasts, there are many circular routes from easy to difficult including the famous Kilnsey to Malham track over Mastyles Lane.

Fishing / Golf

Anglers Cottage sits on the rivers Skirfare and Wharfe. Day fishing permits can be purchased through Kilnsey Angling Club (01756 752301) based at the nearby Tennant Arms pub.

There is also Kilnsey Park Trout Farm (01756 752150) for fishing on a well stocked lake.
